With our Alderman office's support, we are very excited to announce a (safe!) photo fundraiser for our local food pantry, The Friendship Center

Starting May 1st, the Illinois Shelter in Place mandate requires us to all wear masks in public places, and from the street view here at Rockwell Crossing, the majority of folks already are. Every day, people walk, run, and bicycle by the jookie windows, physically distanced, getting exercise, or on their way to the grocery store.

And I have found that I can photograph through my jookie windows! A safe way to create Mask Portraits under the Shelter in Place mandate and raise money for The Friendship Center who is experiencing a higher-than-ever volume of neighbors needing food assistance.

Every day my community is stepping up to support local businesses and help others, and this another way that we can come together to do more good.

Someday these masks will be a memento, a souvenir, of what we are experiencing now and how our everyday landscape and social experience has changed. These Mask Portraits will be a historical document of Lincoln Square's residents as we move forward in uncertain times.

For a small Participation Fee, you and your quarantining household (dogs welcome) will be photographed safely through the windows of the jookie storefront.  All participants should be wearing masks but we understand that some toddler age children might not be.

All proceeds from the Participation Fees will be donated to The Friendship Center to support their growing needs. jookie will absorb the expenses and credit card fees.

Social media digital files will be emailed to partcipants - these are appropriately sized for web, but are NOT print quality. They will show the jookie and The Friendship Center's logos and how you supported this cause.
