Isn’t it annoying when you can’t get everyone into your group selfie?

Or, when you CAN fit everyone in but then you can’t see any of the GORGEOUS scenery that you’re trying to show off behind you?

Here are a couple photos below from a trip last summer to Portland that I took with my boyfriend to meet up with my bestie and her adorable family to celebrate her birthday.

I wanted to get us all in one shot on our lovely Airbnb porch at the beginning of the day before we melted under the hot temps of Portland’s crazy 110 degree heat wave.

So I set up my tiny travel tripod on the railing, turned on my bluetooth shutter release, and then hopped into place between Jeff and Aerial.

You can see the bright colored remote trigger in my hand. 🙂

It’s SUPER easy to use! And it’s a perfect pair with the small tripod.

Here’s another photo of us all at the Japanese Garden. In this one, I was using my fancy pants camera on a larger portable (but lightweight) tripod and a wireless trigger system that my bestie was using with her right hand. (Convincing her daughter to be in the photo with us is material for a whole other blog post. This was probably our 20th attempt using a lot of reverse psychology.)

A bit fancier, but it’s the same concept of setting up your camera on a tripod to make a better overall photo. (And you don’t have to depend on some random passerby to take a decent photo for you.) I COULD have used my phone with the remote shutter… but I wanted better quality in the final images for these.

I want YOU to have an easy phone camera set-up for your family’s next trip! This SAME tiny travel tripod and bluetooth remote are part of my jookie Vacation Photo Kit Giveaway, one blog post back.

All you have to do to participate is head to the jookie kids Facebook page: under my Vacation Photo Kit Giveaway post let me know where you are headed for your summer vacation this year.

Not on Facebook? You can comment under our Vacation Photo Kit posts on our jookie kids Instagram page, too.
